Adjust a "Site Under Construction" message to your clients when your e-store is under maintenance
Having a "Site Under Construction" message on your webshop is crucial for maintaining a professional image and ensuring customer trust. It informs visitors that updates or maintenance are in progress, preventing confusion and enhancing the overall user experience. In general, while your webstore will be “under construction/maintenance”, clients’ access will be restricted.
However, in your e-store’s admin panel, you can set a special whitelist of important clients whose experience will not be affected while you’re working on your webstore. To whitelist clients, you need their IP address.
How to find clients’ IP addresses. To find them:
- In the main menu, go to Customers.
- Select Customers list.
- Locate the client you want to whitelist and hit the “eye” icon.
- Copy the IP address from the field Last used IP.
To set the “Site Under Construction/Maintenance” option, and include a copied client’s IP in a whitelist,
- Go to Store > Settings.
- Select the Maintenance mode.
- In the designated field, enter the IP address(es) of your clients to whom you wish to grant access even while you’re making maintenance. You can add multiple IP addresses, divided by a coma.
- Use the toggle "Restrict the access to your store" to restrict access to the e-store.
- Confirm with the Save.
